  1. (Teen Vogue for the win! They’ve been remarkable over the past couple of years!) What I really like about this piece (and some of the others in this series) is that it addresses something that seems so ordinary and everyday, and casually ‘unimportant.’ But of course, it’s only unimportant to those who ‘fit’ into that language, into that way of referring to the world. For those who don’t, the sheer everydayness of this language use–over and over and over again–is exhausting, frustrating, and reiterating repeatedly that some of us don’t belong, don’t fit. And sometimes, the change needed to make excluded folks included is really quite simple…
