She\u00a0reflects on her experiences and interviews her mother, tracing the erosion of traditional ways of\u00a0collaboration and sharing while celebrating her family\u2019s versatility. Her grandfather, who could\u00a0bring in a boat full of walrus meat, became a Special Constable who spearheaded the\u00a0establishment of the RCMP detachments in the Arctic region. Her father, a fine hunter, made a\u00a0living as a government mechanic. Her mother, who \u201ccould magically turn any ordinary animal\u00a0skin into beautiful clothing with vibrant patterns and designs,\u201d was a teacher.
