Offering a program over three years, with students living in communities spread across the Arctic, and instructors and support staff travelling from communities in Nunavut, PEI, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and British Colombia required a great deal of coordination and planning! Officials from the Department of Education, Nunavut worked closely with the team members at the Faculty of Education, UPEI, to plan, organize and deliver this unique program. The program could not have taken place without this support and cooperation as well as the significant financial commitment from the Nunavut Department of Education. Many dedicated, committed and hardworking people helped to make this program a success.<\/p>\n

Fiona Walton leads the programs and the research initiatives in Nunavut for UPEI. Her philosophy was significantly shaped by 17 years of experience living and working in the North where she worked as a consultant, administrator, teacher educator and researcher. While a CV provides a more formal perspective on any career, it is only by teaching, researching and working together collaboratively with many people in Nunavut that it is possible to make a difference for Inuit education. We want to thank everyone who supports this work.<\/p>\n
