{"id":641,"date":"2013-09-05T06:00:31","date_gmt":"2013-09-05T06:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/projects.upei.ca\/nunavut\/?page_id=641"},"modified":"2013-09-27T13:08:33","modified_gmt":"2013-09-27T13:08:33","slug":"hom","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/projects.upei.ca\/nunavut\/hom\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At UPEI two programs are have been offered in Nunavut, which promote continued learning for educators, a\u00a0Master in Education in Leadership and Learning\u00a0and a\u00a0Certificate in Educational Leadership.<\/p>\n<p>The guiding principles for the programs are based on\u00a0Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuit values and knowledge.\u00a0Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit\u00a0are integrated with the values upheld at the Faculty of Education at UPEI. These values include respect, harmony, resourcefulness, serving and sustainability, inclusion, equity, social justice, diversity, learning and creativity, exploration, and aesthetic appreciation. All courses incorporate the Inuit worldview within the curriculum, and as well as in style of teaching.<\/p>\n<p>Inuit perspectives are central in the programs, and the presence of Elders and Inuit leaders as guests in courses contribute to the cultural foundation and northern relevance of the courses.
