The Communications Subteam is responsible for the Uplinking and Downlinking of data. This is primarily done via the transceiver and antenna assemblies. There are different frequencies that can be used, such as S-Band and Ultra High Frequency (UHF). While the S-Band frequency has a higher transfer rate, it has more stringent pointing requirements. Transmission Formats for Radio Amateurs – COMING SOON

The protocols and formats for all SpudNik-1 beacons, telemetry and payload data transmissions are currently under development. Once these have been finalized, they will be made available on this page so that the amateur radio community will be able to receive and decode all transmissions from the SpudNik-1. Any equations necessary to convert the raw telemetry values to engineering units will also be provided here.
