We are a natural products discovery group focused on exploring marine microbes for their metabolic potential, and it’s subsequent applications. The core goals of our upcoming projects aim to improve our understanding of the true chemical potential of a diverse set of microbes, to evaluate to evaluate how these organisms react to one another in co cultured environments, and to use this information to inform novel natural products discovery.

Biological activity evaluation of extracts is done through collaborations within the UPEI and is integrated with chemical analysis is performed by HRMS-based metabolomics as our tool of choice for chemical analysis.
