Dr. Marina Delphino

Marina Delphino, from Brazil, has a background in Veterinary Epidemiology. She concluded her BVM in 2007 and her MSc in Animal Health in 2010, both from the University of Brasília (UnB) where she worked on risk analysis and biosecurity in the swine industry. She has also worked on the topics of animal welfare, food safety management, and epidemiological studies of brucellosis and tuberculosis in Brazil, and worked for the Brazilian Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (2010-2015) and Ministry of Agriculture (2016) in the Aquatic Animal Health Coordination, with a focus on developing surveillance of aquatic animals. In March 2018, she completed her PhD in Animal Health (Epidemiology) at UnB, working on an aquaculture project (thesis title: Disease risks of fish farming in public reservoirs: a follow-up study conducted in Três Marias, Brazil), and has since joined the CERC team at UPEI as a postdoctoral research fellow.
