KS Int’l Conference 2024

In consultation with North American Korean Philosophical Association (NAKPA), American Philosophical Association (APA), and KRG (Korean Religions Group) of American Academy of Religion (AAR), we organized the 2024 KS International Conference on Confucian Humanism: Korean, Comparative, Interdisciplinary, and Contemporary Reflections, University of PEI, Charlottetown, June 27–28 (Thursday and Friday). 19 eminent, established, and promising scholars—including one keynote speaker from Washington DC, USA and the other from Taipei, Taiwan—participated. Six thematic/specialized groups: two panels on K. Confucian humanism: metaphysics, ethics, and practical and contemporary implications; one panel on Korean, Chinese, and contemporary perspectives; one panel on C. humanism, virtue politics and democracy, and the Confucian critique of racism in N. America: one panel on Confucian humanism, feminine virtues, and feminist perspective: and one more panel on Confucian humanism in interaction with Korean Buddhism and Christianity and Western thought in interaction with Confucian humanism.
