BOOKS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Jan. 2023, we have been preparing three monograph book manuscripts on Dr. Chung\u2019s KS Lab  project\u2019s special theme: \u201cThe Great Korean Neo-Confucian Thinkers: Ideas, Issues, Debates, and Practical and Contemporary Implications.\u201d These scholarly manuscripts are now (September, 2024) about 80\u201385% completed and will be completed by Jan\/Feb 2025. The CSK plans to publish these pioneering<\/strong> books with a topnotch North American and international academic publisher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Edward Chung (CKS Founding Director and KS Lab Project Director) is preparing a publishable monograph manuscript on this comparative topic (book title) regarding Korea\u2019s three most eminent Confucian thinkers: The Three Great Thinkers of Korean Neo-Confucianism: Yi Toegye, Yi Yulgok, and Jeong Hagok on the Min<\/em>d (<\/em>Sim \u5fc3) and Self-Cultivation<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Bongrae Seok (Philosophy, Alvernia University, Reading [city], Pennsylvania)\u2014Dr. Chung\u2019s KS Lab project co-researcher (as a book writer)\u2014is preparing the second publishable monograph manuscript on his chosen innovative topic (book title): Korean Neo-Confucian Debates on the Mind (<\/em>Sim \u5fc3) and Moral Practice: A Moral Psychological and Comparative Study<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Jung-Yeup Kim (Philosophy, Kent State University,  Ohio, USA)\u2014Dr. Chung\u2019s KS Lab project co-researcher (as a book author)\u2014is writing the third publishable monograph manuscript on this fascinating special topic (book title):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Idea of <\/em>Gi\/Qi (\u6c23) in Korean Neo-Confucianism and Its Practical and Contemporary Implications<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

These three monographs are soon to be reviewed for publication in the Palgrave Studies in Korean Thought (PSKT) book series (editor: Edward Chung), Philosophy, Palgrave Macmillan (Springer Nature), a leading world-class academic publisher. The Centre can also consider publishing them as a special 3-volume set on the project\u2019s theme: \u201cThe Great Korean Neo-Confucian Thinkers: Ideas, Issues, Debates, and Practical and Contemporary Implications.\u201d Each monograph will have its own OA (Open Access), hardcover, and paperback versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scholarly originality of these books as well as their comparative and contemporary quality will vitalize and enrich the breadth and depth of Korean Neo-Confucianism, thereby contributing to global KS publication and contemporary Confucian studies. This is why Profs. Seok and Kim and I have selected these topics for our publication project funded by the KS Lab global project, many thanks to KSPS, the AKS, Korean Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
