Island Studies Press is the publishing arm of the Institute of Island Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island. Our mandate is to publish books that focus on Island culture, economy, and environment. We produce scholarly books for a popular audience as well as poetry and creative non-fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several of our titles have been shortlisted for Atlantic Book Awards including Listening for the Dead Bells, New London: The Lost Dream<\/em> and Those Splendid Girls<\/em> (historical, 2020; historical, 2016; and scholarly, 2015, respectively). <\/em>Four of our titles were shortlisted for the 2022 PEI Book Awards<\/span>: three in non-fiction and one in poetry. My island’s the house I sleep in at night<\/em> won the poetry award and Home is Where the Water Is<\/em> won the non-fiction award. Several of our books have been named Publication of the Year by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation, including We’ll Meet Again: Prince Edward Island Women of the Second World War (2021), Listening for the Dead Bells<\/em> (2020), and Called to Serve <\/em>(2019).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
