Skype for the classroom and beyond

Skype allows you to make audio and video calls, share files, and chat with anyone you add as a contact. You can use Skype to collaborate, communicate, and connect with people locally, nationally, and internationally.

There are a multitude of ways to use Skype in educational contexts, with the following examples being just a few:

  • bringing Guest Speakers into the class from pretty much anywhere
  • using Skype for online office hours / consultations
  • cultural sharing between classes in different countries
