CVMA position statements serve as guidelines and principles that address veterinary issues and the stewardship and welfare of animals. Positions are meant to guide the profession, and also to educate the public on the veterinary viewpoint on select issues.

Position statements are prepared by the CVMA Animal Welfare Committee, revised following member consultation and approved by CVMA Council

Castration of cattle, sheep and goats

Electroejaculation of ruminants

Housing systems for laying hens

Use of animals in sport and competition (joint lead)
