C. Tyler DesRoches is Associate Professor of Sustainability and Human Well-Being and
Associate Professor of Philosophy at Arizona State University<\/a>. His areas of specialization
include the history and philosophy of economics, environmental philosophy, sustainability, and human well-being. He is co-founder of the Canadian Society for Environmental Philosophy<\/a> and co-editor of Canadian Environmental Philosophy<\/em><\/a> (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2019). Much of Tyler\u2019s research has focused on the nature of interdisciplinary science during the Anthropocene, with a special focus on Ecological Economics and Island Biogeography.
Tyler was born and raised on Prince Edward Island and, for years, lived on Vancouver Island. His Acadian roots in the Maritimes reach back to Michel Richard (1657-1690) of Port Royale. Following Le Grand D\u00e9rangement, Tyler\u2019s Acadian ancestors established themselves in Mont-Carmel, Prince Edward Island, a small village that Tyler and his family call home during the summer months. Tyler has a growing research interest in the Acadians of Prince Edward Island and their historical friendship with the Mi\u2019kmaq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
