Developing a professional network, practicing your skills, and gaining work experience take time, so it\u2019s great to get started early! UPEI\u2019s Experiential Education<\/strong> has a variety of supports to meet your needs, tailored to where you\u2019re at and what your career goals are. We support students from the beginning of their degree to after graduation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The labour market is quite competitive for many fields right now, so don\u2019t be discouraged if it takes some time and effort to secure a job! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We work with students one-on-one to offer job searching<\/strong>, resume writing<\/strong>, and interview preparation advice<\/strong>. You can email us at experientialed@upei.ca<\/a> for support, drop in to Dalton Hall 209, or schedule a virtual appointment to get support in a way that suits your preferences and needs. We even have a career counsellor on staff who you can work with one-on-one. More information about how to access our services can be found at HERE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also have programs like Co-op and the International Student Employment Support Program, and supports like the Work-Integrated Learning bursary to help connect students to experiential learning opportunities. If you\u2019re looking for work on campus<\/strong>, you\u2019ll want to check out the UPEI Human Resources page<\/strong>. Experiential Education\u2019s job board has off-campus volunteer and work opportunities for students and recent graduates. Another good source for finding local job opportunities is WorkPEI.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our schedule tends to be quiet over the summer months, but as we get closer to the fall, you\u2019ll see many career-related events on our events calendar (don\u2019t worry\u2013these also appear on the main UPEI calendar). We host showcases of local volunteering and work opportunities, information sessions, group volunteering, workshops, and more! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also tend to be pretty active on Instagram, so if that\u2019s an easy way for you to stay up-to-date, follow us at @exedupei<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteer Opportunity with International Student Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer to welcome new International Students to UPEI? There is a volunteering opportunity spanning from August 25 to September 7. Your job would be to welcome new international students at the airport and help them by answering basic questions, directing them to find a PEI Online taxi.
