Fortunately, we have plenty of resources for you, and friendly staff who are eager to help. Attending orientation is a perfect way to start your first semester and prepare you for university life in Canada. Plus, don&#8217;t forget to join all of our online pre-arrival sessions, and review the extra resources on our website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upei.ca\/international-students\/incoming-international-students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to Welcome Week, you get to attend the International Student Orientation <strong>(ISO)<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During ISO you will learn more about what life at the University of Prince Edward Island and in Canada is like- as well as all of the great support and assistance programs we offer!&nbsp;The relationships made at orientation can last throughout your university career and beyond. Wherever you will be this fall, we hope you can be present and make the most of your time by attending both Orientations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Topics covered at the orientation include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Immigration information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UPEISU\u2019s health insurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic and social support &amp; information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Important Canadian laws<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community Supports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We will be covering a lot, but we\u2019ll make sure you leave orientation feeling fresh and prepared to tackle your UPEI degree! Throughout the months of June, July and August, we will be hosting several pre-travel orientation sessions. These sessions are offered in addition to the official orientation taking place on <strong>Saturday August 30th&nbsp;at 10:00 am PEI time<\/strong>. <strong>Sign up <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSd_s8vS9q7PkdEqQqsUGbxqBpPdx0TcmdoP-bP0I4wrUXzwrA\/viewform\">here<\/a> for ISO!<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coming to a new country and a new school can be hard. Luckily, UPEI has the International Buddy Program which pairs you up with a returning student.
