The Concussion Awareness Program (CAP) was created in July 2018. The CAP team is made up of students, research coordinators and researchers at the University of Prince Edward Island Health Centred Research Clinic. The goal of the CAP team is to disseminate evidence-informed concussion knowledge to public stakeholders (e.g. students, athletes, parents, coaches, administrators). Our mandate includes improving concussion awareness including understanding the signs and symptoms of concussion, symptom management strategies and return-to-learn or work and return to active living protocols. CAP team members are actively involved in diverse concussion research studies such as examining the effect of exercise in concussed individuals with acute or persistent symptoms.
