The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering proudly announces that undergraduate student Luke McCarvill has been awarded a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for Canada. As a top student in sustainable design engineering with a 4.3 GPA, Luke will pursue graduate studies in energy systems and environmental change at the University of Oxford starting in October 2024. Dr. Greg Keefe, interim president, praised Luke for his exceptional achievements, character, and dedication to community service. McCarvill has also excelled in various academic and volunteer roles, including work with the Royal Canadian Navy and research projects in Canada and Germany. He joins a distinguished group of Rhodes Scholars, continuing a legacy of excellence at UPEI.
