Start with a simple search like where’s the closest airport
If you’re looking for a place or product in a specific location, add the location, bakery charlottetown or nearby restaurant
2. Keyword Filter
2.1. Using Predefined keywords
Weather: See the weather in your location or city name, like weather cavendish
Dictionary: Put define in front of any word to see its definition
Calculations: Enter a math equation like 3*9123
Unit conversions: Enter any conversion, like 3 dollars in euros
2.2. Using Filtering keywords
Colon: Search within site like success centre site:upei.ca; similarly related for other links similar to a website like related:upei.ca; and link for other links mentioned by the website like link:upei.ca
At: Search specific social media like fsde success centre @instagram
Dollar: Search price of specific product like camera $400
Hashtag: Search specific hashtag all over the internet like #Halloween
2.3. Using Locator keywords
Title: Search words mentioned in title or in the link (url) itself intitle:success centre inurl:upei.ca
Image: Search image with specific size (pixels) like imagesize:500×480
Extension: Search files with specific extension like thermodynamics extension:pdf
2.4. Using Logical keywords
Boolean: Search with AND/OR logic like sugar AND milk or Tim Horton OR Starbuck nearby
Minus: Exclude words or website from the results like jaguar speed -car or jaguar -pinterest
Plus: Similarly include words or website like news + twitter
Tilde: Search allow similar words like ~used ~cars
Quotes: Search exact match like “tallest building”
Asterisk: Placeholder for one or more words missing like happy * to you
Percent: Placeholder for one or more characters missing like Mic%el MacDougal
3. Reverse Image Search
3.1. Upload an image
- Go to Google Images.
- Click Search by image
- Click Upload a file.
- Select an image.
- Click Open or Choose.
3.2. Upload URL link of online image
- On your computer, go to a web browser and access the website with the image you want to use.
- To copy the URL, right-click on the image and click Copy image (URL) address.
- Go to Google Images.
- In the text box, paste the URL link and click Search.
