Berry Genge, a fourth-year Sustainable Design Engineering student at UPEI from Lewes, PEI, has been named a 2024 3M National Student Fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada. This fellowship honors up to ten Canadian students annually for outstanding leadership and a commitment to enhancing education beyond academics.

Nominated by Dr. Libby Osgood, with strong endorsements from UPEI faculty, Genge’s leadership at UPEI has had a lasting impact. She has played a key role in student advocacy, professional development, and community-building within the engineering faculty. Genge has also received multiple awards, including the Panther for Life campus spirit award, for her efforts to create lasting, positive change at UPEI.

She will graduate in 2025 and hopes to pursue a career in her field. Berry joined the other 3M National Student Fellows at the STLHE Conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario last summer.
