Welcome to the University of Prince Edward Island and its Welcome Week!

What is Welcome Week?

Welcome Week is the collection of welcoming events, activities, workshops, videos, and information sessions before and during the first week of classes for new UPEI students. Welcome Week is a UPEI tradition, and as mentioned by various students, it can be a highlight of your university experience!

When is Welcome Week happening?

Welcome Week is set to take place in the Fall of 2026. More specifically, September 4, 2026, until September 13th, 2026. We might have some light programming, emails, and social media communications beforehand, but you can expect Welcome Week to start strong!

How do I register and get involved with Welcome Week?

Registration is open for incoming students, and you can sign up here.
Applications for returning students as point people, leaders and volunteers can sign up here (coming soon).

Who is Involved with Welcome Week 2026?

Welcome Week brings together UPEI’s diverse community of faculty, staff, and returning students to create a welcoming, friendly space for new students on campus. It is a collaborative effort and your best chance to meet all your fellow new students and everyone else!

Who do I reach out to if I have questions about Welcome Week 2026?

During Welcome Week, incoming students to UPEI are paired up with returning students who help lead. If you have any questions, you can always ask a leader; or contact this year’s Welcome Week Coordinators, Hasna Mady and Mary Truong:

  1. Via email – welcomeweek@upei.ca
  2. Via Facebook – UPEI Welcome Week
  3. Via Instagram – upei_studentaffairs
