Krishna’s background and training is in Veterinary Epidemiology. Krishna received an MSc in Comparative Epidemiology from Purdue University in 2011 and completed his PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2015. His research interests include simulation and statistical modeling, risk analysis and epidemiology of disease/parasite spread.

Krishna is currently working on a project to describe lobster moulting patterns in East Coast of Canada and to identify some of the factors associated with lobster shell quality. This project is using data that offer information on lobster sex, size, hemolymph protein concentration, moult stage and shell hardness. This information has been routinely collected by Atlantic Lobster Moult and Quality monitoring project since 2004 from several locations in Southwest Nova Scotia. This study will further link some environmental and oceanographic factors that might explain some variability in the shell hardness quality.
