This guide is part 1 of 2 on How To Setup Solidworks using an Apple Macbook device, intended for setting up Windows 10 on macOS using free built-in Boot Camp application.

- To find out whether the mac is supported (Mac using Intel chip only), on the drop-off top bar:
- Apple menu > About This Mac, then in Overview tab click System Report
- Prepare hardware + software components
- USB Mouse + Keyboard
- Windows 10 installation image (extension ISO)
- eduroam CAT installation executable (extension exe)
- Make sure macOS have at least 50GB available, similar to Step 1 then Storage ta
- In Boot Camp Assisstant, select Install Windows 10 option
- if not automatically selected, select Windows installation image from folder
- Drag left-right to adjust the size for the new partition, recommended 50GB
- Start the automatic process, provide user password when prompted
- Once completed, macOS will automatically reboot into Windows 10 installation process
- In Window installation setup screen, choose Language, Time, and Keyboard to start
- In Activation screen, choose I don’t have a product key option
- In OS version screen, choose Windows 10 Pro
- Accept the terms
- (Important!) Select the correct drive newly created by Boot Camp Assistant
- Drive Name: BOOTCAMP
- Size: 50GB approximately what selected in Step 4
- Once completed, Windows installation reboot into Windows 10 startup screen
- In Region & Keyboard screen, select similar to Step 7
- In Network screen, select I don’t have Internet option
- In Account screen, type in the User Name & answer Security questions
- In Privacy screen, select personalization settings as wanted
- Once Windows 10 installation complete, Boot Camp drivers installation prompt will pop up
- Once driver installed, Window will reboot again
- Confirm all peripheral devices (keyboard, trackpad, touchbar) working
- Select booting OS using Startup Disk utility on macOS or Boot Camp on Windows 10
- Alternatively, when powered off hold Alt/Option (⌥) then push power button until Drive Selection Mode showing
- Then, select Macintosh for macOS and Windows for Windows
