“Through the OER Program that the Library supports, my research students and I developed an online textbook that is tailored to first-year engineering students at UPEI and saves them $250! A research project on the development of the OER led to multiple peer-reviewed publications and provided financial support for four undergraduate research students to gain valuable knowledge. Additionally, dozens of first-year students published their own problems in the OER, building their confidence and creativity.
The UPEI library’s dedication to students has helped engineering to be more inclusive, accessible, and research-focused. My dean recommended the program to me, and I’m so glad he did!”
