It was a busy March for the Seib lab. Riley Arsenault and Jenny Ferrara presented a poster with their Honour’s projects at the Science Atlantic Biology and Applied Aquatic Science (BAAS) joint Undergraduate Research Conference at Mt. Allison University, Sackville, NB, and Mackenzie Ward gave a talk on her recently published work.
Rylie Kane, Mackenzie Ward, and Jenny Ferrara also went to the Girls STEM Up 2026 – Future in Focus conference in Fredericton, NB, and presented posters on their work from the lab. Shout-out to Rylie and Mackenzie, who won the awards for best graduate and undergraduate posters !!!

The Seib lab was awarded an NSERC Discovery Grant and a Discovery Launch Supplement to study the Effects of Maternal Diet on Brain Development and Behaviour !

Exciting news! Our recent paper on how maternal high sucrose intake impacts offspring brain development has just been featured by the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. There’s a news article available along with a short video that breaks down the key findings. Stay tuned for insights from our lab that could change how we think about nutrition in pregnancy!
The article was also chosen for the Journal of Endocrinology 2025 Editor’s Choice Award, a quarterly feature, recognising authors for their significant contribution to endocrine research by highlighting papers and figures of special significance or novelty.
AND the paper was awarded the 2025 BEST PAPER AWARD !!!
