Brett’s thesis project is based on the epidemiology of ulcer disease in farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) in Atlantic Canada. She is focused on describing patterns of Atlantic Canadian ulcer disease cases to determine potential sources and transmission of infection, and identifying potential risk factors associated with ulcer disease mortality. She is also investigating the transmission of Moritella viscosa and the pathological progression of ulcer disease in the laboratory setting.
