Program Options

Our all-inclusive package includes: English classes, activities, Homestay (room and board), airport pick-up, bus pass and insurance.

Students are placed in learning groups according to their age and language ability. Then everyone is back together for the afternoon fun.

**All languages classes and activities are designed and supervised by experienced English-language professionals.  The instructors are part of the English Academic Preparation Program, which has been providing academic support to students since 2001 and operating summer language programs for over 30 years.

In addition to offering summer camps, we can also offer the unique experience of a Winter Language Camp. Students have the opportunity to see Canada during winter, and take part in activities such as sleigh rides, bowling, movies, skating, the Charlottetown Farmers’ Market, and much more.

Our customized programs are designed to meet the curriculum and skill needs of your group. Our program staff has created curriculum and teaching resources at both the high school and undergraduate level for many topics including:  Canadian History and Culture

    • Topics in Comparative Culture
    • Foundations in Economics and Business
    • Global Environmental Issues
    • Immigration Trends
    • Other topics that are of interest to your group

We have also created unique programs for Teachers of English as a Second Language and for Graduate Teaching Assistants. Participants can engage in morning classes focused on academic writing and research and oral communications and presentation skills. Afternoon workshop topics include classroom management, formative and summative assessment practices, curriculum development, and syllabi design, and much more! In addition to the Intensive English classes and workshops, there is also
the added component of observing our existing EAP classes and having the opportunity to doing some practice teaching within the EAP Program.

 

Graduate University Program

Age: 18+

Course Length: 2-6 Weeks and/or a full semester

Schedule: 9:00 to 4:00pm

Classes: 15 Hours / Week; 8:30 to 12:00, Monday to Friday

Activities: Students will participate in fun, academic socio-cultural activities in the weekday afternoons and occasional weekend trips. These include: Anne of Green Gables the Musical, day trip to Cavendish and Coffee and Conversation.

Minimum Level Required: High Beginner

Levels Offered: High Beginner to Advanced, based on language assessment

Accommodation: Live in residence on campus or live with a local homestay family

 

Undergraduate University Program

Age: 17+

Course Length: 2-6 Weeks and/or a full semester

Schedule: 9:00 to 4:00pm

Classes: 15 Hours / Week; 8:30 to 12:00, Monday to Friday

Activities: Students will participate in fun, academic socio-cultural activities in the weekday afternoons and occasional weekend trips. These include: Tour of historic Charlottetown, Dreamcatchers performance,  guest lectures, Anne of Green Gables the Musical, a day trip to Cavendish, hockey game, Greenwich Dunes Interpretive Centre and National Park, leadership training, university preparation, sports days, watershed cleaning, the Climate Lab, and Coffee and Conversation with community leaders.

Minimum Level Required: High Beginner

Accommodation: Live with a local homestay family

 

High School Program

Age: 15+
