The UPEI Literacy & Numeracy Summer Camps work to boost literacy and numeracy through play, while also focusing on social-emotional learning opportunities. We endeavour to meet the needs of the whole child so that learning can take place.

100% of children that took part in the 2022 summer camp pilot maintained or improved their writing skills over the summer.

“The UPEI play-based literacy and numeracy camp has been a valuable and vital intervention for student learning at Georgetown Elementary School. Students who have attended the program are continuing to work at grade level during the school year. Keeping students engaged throughout the summer months, allows students who normally slip below grade level over the summer to start the year at grade level and prepared for the challenges ahead.”
