Sample Workout Programs

Before Beginning!

Before beginning a workout program, please review the Get Active Questionnaire posted above the sample at-home workout programs.

This questionnaire is a screening tool that is used to assess whether one canĀ get started with physical activity right away, or whether one should seek an assessment from a healthcare professional.


At-Home Workout

Home workout programs were developed using the exercises provided in the resistance training section

There are three levels of program difficulty:

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

Each difficulty level has 2 programs, for a total of 6 at-home workouts

If you are just beginning to exercise, it is recommended that you begin with beginner program 1, and gradually work your way down the list as you become more comfortable with the exercises.


UPEI Gym Workout

1 workout program has been provided specifically for the UPEI fitness center.


Downloading the Workouts

All workouts are attached as PDF documents and include a page with all of the exercises to be completed, as well as a sheet where you can fill in your repetitions and resistance band type so you can track your progress.

To open the file, simply click on the download button and the document will open up.

Once opened, you can print off the document and record your workout progress.
