About

The Saint Dunstan’s University Institute of Christianity and Culture at UPEI has been made possible through the cooperation of the SDU Board of Governors and the UPEI Department of Religious Studies

In 2016 the SDU Board agreed to contribute $500, 000 over the course of the next ten years to fund the operation of the Institute.

Programs offered by the Institute consist of off campus experiential learning opportunities; events for SDU Scholars, Catholic Studies and Philosophy students to promote intellectual inquiry and collegiality; outreach through Faith in Action initiatives.

The Institute is governed by an advisory committee of six consisting of three representatives from UPEI (the Departments of Development and of Religious Studies) and three representatives from the SDU Board.

In addition to the projects already underway, the committee will continue to look for projects that may be developed either on a regular basis or as a “one off” type of event that fall within the mandate and philosophy of the Institute
