Experiential Learning

The Institute is currently operating on a three year rotation of experiential learning experiences.

In the winter semester of 2016, the UPEI Religious Studies Department offered the course “Catholic New York” and during the winter break, the class and its professor traveled to New York City to visit the various institutions discussed in the course.

In May of 2017, a class of ten students from UPEI spent three weeks in Rome, taking a course from two UPEI professors, entitled “Rome: Christianity and Culture,” and visiting sites of historical and religious significance both within the city of Rome and other parts of Italy.

In the winter semester of 2018, two UPEI students will spend a semester studying at the University of Malta. The University of Malta is renowned for its Faculty of Theology, and while there the students will take a mixture of Theology courses and electives.

Travel and expenses for all of the above programs are financed through the Institute.

A new rotation will begin in the 2018-2019 academic year.
